My name is Barbara Lovell and I’ve been in prison for the last 15 ½ years. I’m staying at a halfway house up the street. When I first came down, I came to the Walk-In Clinic and Ms. Rebecca asked me, “What do you want?” “What do you need?” Well, I had no idea. “Well how about an ID? Birth certificate? Social Security card? I said, I have nothing. No clothes. I have nothing. And she’s like, “Well, let’s see what we can do.” Spiritually, they have helped me open up and see the possibilities. It’s shown me that regardless of anything else, I can make it because of people like this. I want to give the biggest heartfelt thank you to the Lexington Rescue Mission for everything they’ve done and everything they have shown me and every way that they have helped me.
